Combine 1 tsp. of unrefined salt with 250ml water and mix it until the salt is dissolved. Use this mixture to gargle a few times a day.

Salt for mouth burns

If you’ve burnt your tongue eating something hot or spicy mix half a tsp. of unrefined salt with 200ml of lukewarm water and gargle every hour until the burning sensation disappears.

Salt for painful and sensitive jaw

Make a solution of 1tsp. of salt with 100ml of water and gargle as often as you can.

Salt for Toothache

As a temporary fix, until you can go to the dentist you can rinse your mouth with a solution of 100ml lukewarm water, 2tsp. vinegar and 1tsp. unrefined salt.

Salt for allergies and sinuses inflammation

Unrefined salt can be a life saver when it comes to inflamed nasal cavity lining. Boil 200-300ml of water then add enough salt so that the water becomes as salty as sea water. Wait for it to cool off and pour it in an empty nasal drops bottle. Spray inside both nostrils twice a day.

Salt for insect bites

Salt can ease the pain and reduce the swelling from an insect bite efficiently. Make a thick paste from salt and water and apply it on the insect bite. Leave it on until it dries out completely. The salt will reduce the irritation and ease the pain.

Salt for swollen legs

Prepare a foot bath which will reduce the swelling around your ankles and will relax your legs. Pour some warm water in a bowl and add about 4 tbsp. of unrefined salt and a few drops of lavender, mint or eucalyptus essential oil. Soak your feet in this bath for about half an hour.
